Saadet Party Elâzığ Provincial Presidency issued a press release regarding the flood and flooding problem in the city after the heavy rains in the region.
The press statement that touched on the flooding problems that occur even if it rains a little in Elazig was made by Saadet Party Elazig Provincial President Abdullah Akın.
In the statement, which pointed to the wrong policies implemented by the municipality in Elazig, Abdullah Akın listed the solutions for the problems experienced after the rains.

However, since this warning was not taken into account, floods still occur in Elazig. The main reason for the flooding problem in Elazig, even with a little rain, is obvious. It is the underground application of open-top girdling channels, which started during the period of the past mayors and is still continuing. I leave the work of the Elazig Mayors, who insist on this mistake and do not listen to any scientific warning, to the discretion of our nation, despite the DSI's 'not suitable' report regarding the undergrounding of these canals surrounding the city. I call out to the mayor again; Before a catastrophe occurs, bonding channels around the city should be opened immediately," he said.
