Answering our questions about Ramadan, the sultan of 11 months, theologian writer Abdullah Yıldız Hoca made special statements to our newspaper.

At a time when we witnessed a historical disaster, we entered the month of Ramadan and attained enlightenment.

In this sad year we live, we pray at iftar tables and sahur tables on the occasion of the fact that Ramadan, the sultan of 11 months, is the good news for a new spring.

In this blessed month, which is the symbol of cooperation, sharing, understanding and the consciousness of the ummah, the theologian writer Abdullah Yıldız answered the questions of the Milli Gazete.

Abdullah Yıldız, who touched upon many important issues such as Ramadan will be effective in healing the wounds of the earthquake, and the relationship between fasting and sincerity, drew attention to the importance of spiritual renewal.

We entered the month of Ramadan at a time when we were trying to heal the wounds of the earthquake. We are sad and distressed because of the earthquake. At this point, let's first get your opinions on the earthquake and Ramadan. How can we evaluate the blessed month of Ramadan?

"We lost about 60 thousand of our Muslim brothers and sisters in Turkey and Syria in the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş. After the earthquakes, there was a flood in which 16 of our citizens died. Epidemics, natural disasters and wars cause the death of many people. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) says that those who are buried under a dent, drowned, or die due to severe diseases are by law martyrs. Those who passed away completed their tests, but we have millions of brothers affected by disasters and now a great test has begun for us. Allah (SWT) says in the Qur'an that He will test us with 5 things in this worldly life. The good news is given to those who are patient in the continuation of the verse 'with fear, hunger, lessening of your goods, less of your lives and less of your products'. Patience also means being resilient and overcoming difficulties. With the coming of Ramadan, we have no doubt that our nation will overcome these difficulties with patience and solidarity. There is a trace left by the thousand-year-old Anatolian Muslim tradition, and I think that the atmosphere of helping our people, since the first day of the earthquake, will intensify with Ramadan."

“RAMADAN WILL BE A BALM FOR THE INJURED OF THE REGIONAL PEOPLE”

It is possible to see the message of sharing given by the month of Ramadan in our culture. There are many other beautiful sensitivities such as giving zakat in Ramadan and waiting for the month of Ramadan for those who will give alms. Can you remind us a little about Ramadan and the culture of helping each other?

"I had the opportunity to go to the earthquake area and make observations there. Thankfully, our nation has shown a good reflex, and there is no longer a problem such as food and clothing in cities where destruction and distress are great. Aid teams from other countries are stunned by this. All of Turkey is mobilized for the region. Of course, there was a lot of loss of life in the region, but there is also a serious loss of property. Millions of our brothers' homes, workplaces and savings were also destroyed by the earthquake. Yes, we share the pain of the people in that region, but we need to support the needs of the disaster victims."

“THE SHADOW OF A BLESSED MOON HAS FALL OVER US”

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, 'The shadow of a blessed month has fallen on us. There is such a day in that month that it is better than a thousand months.' In our culture, as you said, Ramadan and spending are in a different place. The fact that our people wait for the month of Ramadan while giving their zakat is also related to the hadith of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH). Those who visited the earthquake area know that there is a great aid campaign, I hope this will continue to increase during the month of Ramadan and Ramadan will be a balm for the wounds of the people of the region. The helping hand that extends to the region for a long time, not just the month of Ramadan, should not be withdrawn.
