The Federation of Associations that Value Humanity (IDDEF) gave hope to 1 million people affected by thirst and polluted water problems in the city of Abeche in the Central African country of Chad with the support of philanthropists. Listening to the voices of the people in Abeche, where the biggest water crisis of recent years has been experienced, İDDEF has opened a fully equipped water well with electric pump, solar energy and 16 fountains in the Turkish Garden District, which dates back to the Ottoman Empire. With the opening of the water well, the people of the region experienced the joy of having clean water.

THERE WAS A GREAT WATER CRISIS IN THE REGION

The water well project, which was prepared upon the detection of a major water crisis in the field by İDDEF through its local officials in Chad, was completed and put into service in a short period of two months. Abeşe Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Said Mirer, İDDEF Chad Representative Muhammed Hussein, local administrators and the people of the region attended the opening ceremony of the Chad Ummah Water Well.

THANKS TO İDDEF AND THE CHARITERS

In his speech at the ceremony, Deputy Mayor of Abeche Metropolitan Municipality Said Mirer said, “First of all, on behalf of our Abeşe people, I would like to thank İDDEF and our benefactors. In the Turkish Garden District, you provided water to our people where we could not find water. As Turkey, you are not foreigners in this region, Turks have been with us since the Ottoman Empire. In the name of Islam, I hope that this brotherhood will increase even more. I would like to express my gratitude for the work you have done in the region”.

“May God bless each and every one of our donors”

Speaking at the ceremony, IDDEF Chad Representative Muhammed Hussein said, "We are in the city of Abeshe, which is about 1000 kilometers from the capital of Chad, Enjamine. There is a neighborhood in this area and it is known as the Turkish Garden District. This is an Ottoman neighborhood. The water problem of the residents of the neighborhood was very high. As İDDEF, we took action to solve the water problem of our brothers. Thank God, we have now completed and opened a large water well project. Under normal circumstances, families here tried to bring water from afar with wheelbarrows, buckets, cans or donkeys. In doing so, women and girls in particular were putting their lives at risk. As İDDEF, the residents of the region were able to reach the source of the water very easily with the opening of the water well. We would like to thank all our benefactors from Chad who contributed to the completion of the project. God bless each of our donors."

After the speeches, the Chad Ummah Water Well was put into service with prayers and the people filled their bins and buckets. Abeşe Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Said Mirer was presented with a plaque by İDDEF.

In the statement made by İDDEF regarding the water well in Chad, "Abeche, the third largest city in Chad and affected by 1 million people, was experiencing a major water crisis. On the one hand, there was a situation where people walking for miles to get water, and on the other hand, only a can of water was sold for 3 dollars. The thirst problem experienced by our brothers, who were in a difficult situation without money, was in a deplorable state. After the determinations and researches made by our local officials in the country, we started the works of our water well project without wasting any time. With the support of our benefactors, we provided clean water to millions of our brothers and sisters who urgently need water wells in a short period of two months. In Abeşe, where more than 1 million people were struggling with the water crisis, our brothers in the region experienced the joy of accessing clean water with the well-equipped well we dug in the Ottoman remnant Turk Garden Neighboorhood. On the occasion of water, our source of life, there was happiness on the faces of the children and hope in the hearts of the mothers. Since our brothers here see themselves as a part of the Ottoman Empire and Turkey, we see them as a trust from our ancestors. Our water well, which will be opened in the region where the Abeşe Turks live, will provide free service to millions of our brothers in need, with 4 cubic meters of iron storage, 300 meters of drilling, electric pumps, 16 fountains and solar energy. We would like to thank our philanthropists who supported the opening of our Chad Ummah Muhammad Water Well," it was stated.
