Following the decision to execute 3 political detainees in Saudi Arabia, including the prominent Islamic scholar Salman al-Awdah, the Anatolian Youth Association (AGD) Istanbul Branch gathered in front of the Istanbul Consulate in Saudi Arabia and protested the execution decision.
Yunus Genç, the head of the AGD Istanbul Branch, who announced the press release, emphasized the possible reflections of the executions in the Middle East. In the protest that started with the Quran recitation, Muslims were prayed for unity and solidarity.
Anatolian Youth, shouting slogans 'Not the Europe, but the Islamic Union', dispersed without any incident after the press release.
AGD Youth President Yunus Genç, "The US, which recently invaded Afghanistan and Iraq, confounded Syria, hit Libya, and provoked a civil war in Yemen, has now put Iran on its target board. The developments in the Gulf are very worrying. Probably the United States, especially Saudi Arabia, using the Gulf countries to hit Iran, or rather Muslim Muslims will be seeking to break. Trump's decision to send 500 troops to our region, to ship ships and troops to the Gulf, to sell to the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia with 8.5 billion dollars of arms, and to increase sanctions against Iran, we are following with concern the recent discovery of Turkey's exemption," he said.
In a possible US-Iran war, the imperialist mind wants to bring down the countries of the region, said Yunus Genç and continued as "The world needs more and more peace and peace every day. All the Islamic world is obliged to create a safe haven for mankind. In the past, the winner was the imperialist US and the occupying Israel. The rulers of the Islamic countries should avoid all the oppressed people who make decisions that could cause a great disaster. Muslims should be alert to all kinds of fitge. Genç reminded that the three political detainees, including the Islamic scholar Salman al-Awdah, would be executed by Saudi Arabia. The increase in arrests and executions for journalists, sensitive people and opinion leaders will not help Muslims to live together. As in the case of the Islamic countries, Jamal Khashoggi, the explanation should not come into question with troubled issues. On the occasion of the Eid al-Fitr, we hope that the rulers of Saudi Arabia will release the prisoners without losing their support.
