The number of graduates of the faculty of agriculture is growing every year. Agricultural faculty graduates who cannot find a job in the private sector within their own departments are waiting to be employed in the public sector.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, which has not been widely appointed for a long time, is at the center of employment demands in the public sector. Agricultural faculty graduates want their grievances to end and they want to open a cadre.

Due to unplanned education and higher education policies, approximately 4,000-5,000 students graduate from many agricultural faculties opened with insufficient infrastructure every year. Agricultural engineers who graduate due to wrong policies that lead to an increase in the number of graduates without employment planning cannot be employed sufficiently in the private sector, and the majority of those who are employed work below the wages they deserve. However, sufficient employment opportunities for the agricultural sector in the public sector have not been created for many years. Agricultural faculty graduates, who could not find a job or be appointed in their field, told Milli Gazete about their problems.

“NO JOB IN THE PRIVATE SECTOR”

27-year-old M.B. said, "I have a bachelor's and master's degree from Harran University, Department of Field Crops. I am doing everything I can to improve myself. I don't go out much because I don't have money. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a job yet. Most of the postings require 3-5 years of experience. I got 80.84 points from the exam. In the last job interview I went to, they didn't hire me because I had a good score. We've been trying to have appointments for over a year. I am not paying my student loan debt. Like many of my friends, I always postpone my dreams until after the appointment."

“I DELAY MY JOBS AFTER APPOINTMENT”

Engineering graduate A.G. "I am a food engineering graduate. I couldn't find a job in the private sector because I don't have work experience. I have 89 points from KPPS. I could not be appointed not because my scores were low, but because the number of appointments was low or there were no appointments. Exam B group is an exam every two years and they barely make even a single assignment in these two years. Since no appointment will be made; If only they had told us, what would we spend time taking the exam or waiting like this? And uncertainty is tiring. If they had said that we would not make public appointments, we would have given up on taking the exam," he said.

Food engineer S.T. "I have 68 points from the exam. The private sector is very troubled, some places work below the minimum wage. Few assignments are made and high scores are required in the exams. We want immediate appointments in serious numbers," he said.
