One of the pioneers of the Milli Görüş movement, and a deputy in the Virtue (Fazilet) and Saadet parties, Prof. Dr. Oya Akgönenç and Lütfi Kibiroğlu, who is among the symbolic names of the Milli Görüş movement, the former Mayor of Eminönü and Cansuyu Istanbul Supervisor were commemorated with mercy and gratitude on the anniversary of their death.
LÜTFİ KİBİROĞLU COMMEMORATED AT HIS GRAVE
Former Eminönü Mayor and Cansuyu Istanbul Supervisor Lütfi Kibiroğlu was commemorated with prayers at his grave in the year of his passing away. Kibiroğlu, who was buried in Istanbul Merkezefendi Cemetery, was commemorated after the afternoon prayer, and many people attended the commemoration program. Cansuyu Chairman Mustafa Köylü, A New World Industrialist and Businessmen’s Association (YENİAD) Chairman Selman Esmerer, Milli Gazete General Director Ömer Yüksel Özek and Milli Gazete Editor-in-Chief Mustafa Kurdaş also attended the program, where the Quran was recited and prayers were said. Many people who participated in the commemoration program of Lütfi Kibiroğlu, also visited the grave of Milli Görüş leader Prof. Dr. Necmettin Erbakan.
OYA AKGÖNENÇ REMEMBERED WITH GRATITUDE
One of the pioneers of the Milli Görüş movement, and a deputy in the Virtue (Fazilet) and Saadet parties, Prof. Dr. Oya Akgönenç is commemorated with mercy on the 4th anniversary of her death. Akgönenç, who passed away at the age of 79 in 2018, accomplished important works for our country throughout her life, and was always appreciated for her political stance. Known for her academic career and her work in the field of international relations, Akgönenç, was in the close working team of our teacher Prof. Dr. Necmettin Erbakan. Akgönenç, who started her political career in the Virtue Party right after the Welfare (Refah) Party was unjustly shut down, was elected as a deputy from Ankara in the first general election.
HER PRINCIPAL STAND ON FEBRUARY 28 WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN
Akgönenç, in the field of human rights in the face of the oppression and persecution of headscarved people during the postmodern coup of February 28 made important breakthroughs. Akgönenç, who has always been at the forefront of headscarf protests, stated that depriving girls of education just because of their headscarf is a great crime against people's rights, and made studies and determinations to pave the way for headscarved girls to receive education in every field.
SHE WAS A QUALIFIED NAME IN FOREIGN POLICY
Akgönenç accomplished important works in the field of foreign policy with her academic career. Akgönenç, who also served as a deputy in the Saadet Party, which was founded after the closure of the Fazilet Party, later assumed the role of the party's vice chairman in charge of foreign policy. Akgönenç was constantly emphasizing that the growth of Organization for Economic Cooperation (D-8) was very valuable for Turkey.
SHE HAD A STATE ORDER FROM PAKISTAN
The late Akgönenç made great contributions to the friendship between Turkey and Pakistan, one of the important countries of the Islamic world. Friendship of both countries with her Pakistani husband Mohammed Mughisuddin Akgönenç, who has also carried out important political and academic studies for the development of relations, was awarded the prestigious Pakistani award "Tamgha-e-Imtiaz" for her services to Turkey-Pakistan relations at the National Day organized by the Pakistan Embassy in March.
