The AK Party and IYI Party held their weekly group meeting in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM).
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan harshly criticized the opposition and the presidential candidate of the Nation Alliance, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, at the group meeting of his party.
IYI Party Chairwoman Meral Akşener criticized the government.
NEW HIKE FOR MINIMUM WAGE ON JULY
Stating that there will be an interim increase in the minimum wage in July, Erdoğan stated that there will be a discount in electricity and natural gas.
"Let's share two different good news with our nation. First, we are going for a 15 percent discount in electricity in all subscriber groups as of April. Secondly, as of April, we are offering a 20 percent discount on the natural gas tariff used by industrialists, which remains quite high compared to residential subscriptions," Erdoğan said.
Referring to Sweden's NATO membership, Erdogan said, "There are some things we expect from them, they must be fulfilled first."
AKŞENER: “MINISTERS MUST RESIGN”
Akşener reacted to the candidacy of the ministers in earthquake zones and other provinces without resigning.
"Those who accuse the Nation Alliance of distributing ministries are in a hurry to appoint their appointed ministers. Those who realize that they will lose the election are after becoming a member of parliament. Will these appointed ministers enter the election with the power of the state behind them and call it a fair and honest election? Will they use the state's resources as they wish during the election process and then call it democracy? We do not accept such unprincipled, frivolousness," she said.
"WE WILL ASSIGN NEW NAMES"
Expressing that the ministers in the cabinet will be candidates for parliament, Erdoğan said, "Hopefully, our ministers will continue the services they have provided in the cabinet until today in the Parliament after 14 May. Hopefully, after we win the elections, we will assign new names to the cabinet. According to the Supreme Election Board's calendar, we will submit our candidate lists on April 9th. New names will be included in our candidate lists due to the 3-term rule and other reasons."
