Good Party Chairwoman Meral Akşener made evaluations on the agenda at the Group Meeting of her party in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM). Akşener, who harshly criticized President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, blamed the government for the murder of Sinan Ateş, the former President of the Grey Wolves (Ülkü Ocakları) and the economy.
“DO YOUR DUTIES ERDOĞAN!”
Drawing attention to the silence of the representatives of the government over the Sinan Ateş murder, Akşener said, “As the head of state, it is your duty, Erdoğan, to find the murderer of your elector's nephew, who has kept you alive by voting for you for years. You will fulfill this duty, Erdogan. I don't know anyone else, Erdogan, after the 2018 elections, you are the only judge of this country, Erdogan. You are the law, you are the jurisprudence, you are the justice. That's why I say, are you a scarecrow? Fulfill your duty, Erdogan.”
“CONCRETE STEPS MUST BE TAKEN”
After the ugly attack on our holy book, the Qur'an, in Sweden, Akşener stated that the government needs to take reactionary concrete steps and said, “But a government that governs the State of the Republic of Turkey cannot be content with only criticism and show-stopping reactions on such a serious issue. In such matters that we see above politics, what the government should do is to go beyond the understanding of ‘for the sake of apperances’. Those who govern the state have to act with this responsibility and the seriousness of having authority. In other words, the main goal should be to prevent the repetition of such actions.”
