Because Muslims are another side of the world and they represent the civilization of Truth itself. Those who are under the influence of Western thought look at problems with the thoughts they depend on. As the empire falls, it is desired to be limited to America and other countries of the West. But Russia doesn't have any leftovers from them. They keep their balance.
In the Syria incident, the minds of the Muslims were not less confused, which is still going on. It seems that those who trust and rely on America have subconscious feelings. They are rightly disturbed by the Russian intervention in Syria. But this also causes their closeness to America.
Ukraine's desperate desire to enter the EU community in the heat of war is another result of post-war thinking. This is what the West wants. It is also a result of the conflicts of the Catholic and Orthodox world. But what they are generally uncomfortable with is that the conflicts of the two sects of the Christian world. Yet the outcome of the war is far more important to them.
