Ali Yalçın, Chairman of the "Memur-Sen" Confederation, made statements after the inflation figures were announced.
"The inflation rate for March 2023 was announced as 2.29 percent. In the January-March period, 3-month inflation was 12.52 percent and the inflation difference was 4.19 percent. The inflation that will occur in the next three months will be added to the inflation difference. The resulting table; It shows that salaries/wages are decreasing, losses will increase, and improvements should be made to compensate for losses. As Memur-Sen, we insistently stated that the improvement to be given over the increase in the collective agreement should be given as welfare share," Yalçın said.
EQUAL RAISE REQUESTED
"The current situation; Our promise of 'the best price hike is price stability' has also been registered on the ground of practice. Purchasing power should be maintained with real increases, not numerical size with nominal price increases," Yalçın said that the civil servants put their hand under the responsibility and worked all the time.
"As Memur-Sen, we know the steps taken to democratize, liberate and increase rights, and we say that; Our state has both the power and the will to compensate for inflation losses, to ensure fairness in income distribution, and to narrow the gap between incomes. The rightful expectation of our public servants should be seen, and the improvement should be realized, taking into account the lowest civil servant salary, as well as the will to increase the minimum pension and resolve the Retirement Age Victims (EYT), in the transition of contracted personnel to the staff," Yalçın added.
