Speaking at the "Education and Migration Symposium" organized by Eğitim-Bir-Sen Union, Ali Yalçın, Chairman of Memur-Sen and Eğitim-Bir-Sen, said that Western and colonialist states are at the root of the refugee problem in the world and said, “As the crises deepen, geopolitical movements will increase and irregular migration will increase day by day. What is the reason? The reason is imperialism, the reason is colonialist policies…”
The “Education and Migration Symposium” organized by the Educators Union (Egitim-Bir-Sen) and held at the Memur-Sen headquarters was held with the presentation of academics and the participation of those concerned. Speaking at the symposium, Memur-Sen and Eğitim-Bir-Sen Chairman Ali Yalçın stated that they took great steps to solve the emerging problem and pointed out that it is necessary to focus on the root causes of migration.
“IRREGULAR MIGRATION WILL INCREASE IF THERE IS A CRISIS”
Yalçın also revealed the hypocrisy of the policies implemented by the Western countries in his speech, and made a speech especially on the results that they aim to cause disorder. Yalçın said, “Some Western countries, which produce all kinds of violence to protect their colonial welfare and even the balance they have created, and to protect themselves against the people of the countries they exploit, have turned their policies based on xenophobia against the people they exploit into their country's policy, as if that were not enough. How moral and how legal? But there is something they missed… As the crisis deepens, geopolitical activities will increase and irregular migration will increase day by day. What is the reason? The reason is imperialism, the reason is colonialist policies…”
“SHOULD MOVE IN A COOL MANNER”
Yalçın said that the issue of migration will keep the countries busy in the coming period as well, adding, “When we look at the developments on a world scale, the phenomenon of migration seems to occupy us for a longer period of time due to geopolitical ruptures, as I said. We, all the time, say something… Understanding the most bare reality, this way makes the solution easier. Instead of the judgments formed by ideologies and sharp beliefs, we have to deal with the problems calmly in the phenomenon of migration,” he warned.
