Diyanet-Sen Union Chairman Ali Yıldız pointed out that the statements made through the media targeting religious beliefs and religious people have increased significantly for a while, and said, “The well-known game is on the stage again, we need to see the big picture and disrupt this game. We will never allow our religious values to be humiliated or the unity and solidarity of this country to be disrupted.”

“THIS ARE TREE LOVERS, ANIMAL LOVERS, BUT NOT PATRIOTIC”

Yıldız, who reacted harshly to the scandalous words of a so-called journalist targeting the hafiz (memorizing whole Qur’an from the beginning to the end) ceremonies, said, “We think that such attacks on our religious values in a Muslim country have nothing to do with freedom of thought and are done on purpose. Lately, such statements that insult religious values are very popular in the media and social networking sites. As a country, as citizens of this country, we have to be very careful and see the big picture, the big game being played. These games played on our country are the attempts of those who do not want to see a strong Turkey and their pawns’ games. These people, whom we sometimes see as academics, sometimes as tree lover, sometimes as animal lover, sometimes as freedom lover, and sometimes as terror lover, are unfortunately not patriotic at all. We must protect our unity and solidarity, and be a game changer by being aware of the game that is being played, in spite of those who spill hatred from their tongues and those who make efforts to separate and marginalize the people of the country.”

“WE WILL NOT ALLOW THE NEW FEBRUARY 28”

Stating that the games played can only be broken in unity and brotherhood, Yıldız added, “For years, seeds of mischief have been tried to be planted, our people in this country have been separated, and an atmosphere of chaos has been created through artificial divisions such as secular-religious, Turkish-Kurdish, Alevi-Sunni. Unfortunately, this country experienced the most striking examples of this during the February 28 process. Recent events show that a new February 28 play is being tried to be staged. No one should have any doubt that we will disrupt this game with unity, solidarity and common sense against sinister mentalities.”
