Stating that the grievances will not end with the new state-supported alimony regulation that the government has been working on recently, İlhan Ergincan, the Founding Chairman of the Perpetual Alimony Victims Platform, gave information about the regulation that the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Family worked together, and stated that the victims were waiting for a solution.
"The study focuses on the formula of limiting alimony to the duration of marriage, half of the marriage period, and the state continuing to pay alimony if the spouse who is entitled to alimony at the end of this period cannot find a job or has no income. Victims are no longer waiting for words, but for action," Ergincan said.
In his special statements to our newspaper, Ergincan stated that the ministers and deputies only brought up the grievances experienced with the problem, "It has been stated that the indefinite alimony arrangement has not been fair at all levels of government for 3 years and this injustice will be ended. Our ministers and deputies, like victims, only express their grievances. They forget that they are the solution authority. The formulas carried out by the Ministry of Justice on the issue of indefinite alimony in recent days; The person who falls into poverty by divorce will be able to demand alimony for a minimum of 2 years and a maximum of 6 years. The second is alimony for the duration of the marriage. Thirdly, a woman who has been married for 20 years will be able to receive alimony for 10 years, which is half of the period of marriage," Ergincan added.
"THE TIME OF DIVORCE CASES SHOULD BE REDUCED, AND ALIMONY TO BE DETERMINED AS 1 YEAR"
Emphasizing that the work done will not end the grievances, Ergincan reminded the long-lasting divorce cases, "For example, the divorce case of someone who has been married for 10 days takes 5 years. During this case, it is the measure alimony paid and it is not counted as alimony. At the end of the case, when you say alimony for the duration of the marriage, the system will define 10 days of marriage as 1 year and will rule for 1 year alimony. Who can say that the victim, who pays alimony for 5 years and alimony in 1 year, alimony for 6 years in total, pays alimony as much as the marriage period? There is no alimony as long as the marriage period, it cannot be applied. Alimony must be awarded for a maximum of 1 year. The age of the person claiming alimony, how many years they have been married. Educational status of the person claiming alimony, whether he has professional skills. It should be investigated whether there is a fault in the divorce and decisions should be made accordingly," he said.
