In a statement to our newspaper, All Experts and Retirees Association (TUZED) Ömer Doğan said that the promises made to the specialized sergeants should be fulfilled.
"Before the upcoming elections, although there were promises made to the sergeants, we see that these promises were not fulfilled and we are saddened. Unfortunately, sergeants still do not have an appointment regulation, health regulation, registry regulation. Since 1986, when we started to work within the Turkish Armed Forces, we have tried to fulfill every task given to us. We proudly serve our homeland, our nation, without worrying about the professional difficulties we are experiencing, without prejudice to the mission that the uniform we wear gives us. Although there were no promises made to the sergeants before the upcoming elections, unfortunately, we see that these promises were not fulfilled and we are saddened. Unfortunately, sergeants still do not have an appointment regulation, health regulation, registry regulation. We and our family members cannot benefit from the social facilities that our officers and non-commissioned officers use. This discrimination, in its simplest form, causes unrest among these personnel. MHP leader, Mr. Devlet Bahceli, promised us that we will recruit specialist sergeants by putting it in his party's election manifesto during the 2018 election period, but these promises were not kept," he said.
“WE WANT TO BE GIVEN A DEGREE OF SIGNIFICANT”
"We want our sergeants to be assigned to active duty status and to have professional security. We demand that our retired, ex officio retired friends who are victims of the law numbered 6000 be given a decent degree. We want retired specialist sergeants to be given a one-time degree, and our young friends to be given at least one year of training within the scope of the National Defense University. In the law amendment proposal of the Ministry of National Defense, hours before the closing of the Parliament, there is a study on how we can dismiss the sergeants from the profession more easily, and how much authority we can give to the chiefs about pressure and mobile application to the sergeants. This work makes us very sad. While the sergeants are keeping watch in the base area in Afrin, Idlib, Al-Bab, Hakkari, Şemdinli, while waiting for the border, in a corner of his head he is worried that I will be fired from his profession tomorrow. What kind of efficiency do you intend to get from these people, you are trying to dismiss them from the profession and you are keeping the border waiting, we think there is a contradiction here," he added.
