An employee with minimum wage for the first time participated to the 'Minimum Wage Detection Commission Meeting', and said, "This is not a salary. We want that we can live humanely".

The Minimum Wage Detection Commission held its first meeting in 2019, within the framework of efforts to determine the minimum wage concerning 7 million employees. Workers, employers and government representatives of the Minimum Wage Fixing party workers Commission consisting of Turk-Is, the employers' side of Turkey Confederation of Employer Associations (TISK), while the government Family, Labor and Social Services was represented by Minister Zehra Zumrut Selcuk.
 
Ergün Atalay, the Chairman of the Turkish-Business Confederation who met with the journalists before the Minimum Wage Detection Commission gathered yesterday, said, We have called for the minimum wage to be 2000 liras before the month. Gülden Görmez, the minimum wage employee who participated in the Minimum Wage Detection Commission Meeting for the first time, said, "We are living as a borrower for a whole year. This isn't salary. Gülden Görmez was the minimum paid-in to the Wage Detection Commission. She was a private security officer working at the minimum wage at Yalova University and said, "I live with my two sons. One of my sons is studying in college. The other one left high school. Because I had my son in school uniform, but I didn't get his cloak. I said we'il get it next month. However, the school administration does not have my son's cardigan every day in accordance with my son this situation can not feed himself left school," she said.
 
"Let me tell you how you are trying to get along with minimum wage, we have become condemned to credit card. I put my salary in the pocket, rent, bill, I'm putting in debt. I start 1-0 per month. As a result, I am again turning to debt. This is the case for all minimum wage earners." she added.
