At least 20 suspects were detained here late Friday after a police vehicle was attacked with a stun grenade.
Police sources who spoke on condition of anonymity said the homemade device was thrown at a police vehicle in the Altindag district.
Police fired back and launched an operation to apprehend the attackers.
The attack came hours the PKK terror group staged a deadly bomb attack on a police station in the southeastern province of Diyarbakir.
Nine people, including two police officers were martyred in the attack.
