Chairman of the Confederation of Independent Public Servants Unions, Mehmet Alper Öğretici, reminded that the inflation in the first 4 months is 15.3 percent and that there will be an 8 percent salary increase for the first 6 months according to the collective agreement.
"It has already been established that the public employee will receive approximately 7 percent inflation. This announced rate is far from reflecting the real inflation that the citizens have experienced and are desperate for," Öğretici said.

According to ENAG's data, April inflation was 4.86 percent and the last 12-month increase was 105.19 percent.

Öğretici, who shared the research conducted by BASK with the public, drew attention to the meltdown in civil servants' salaries according to the inflation rate announced by TUIK.
