It is requested to change the regulation that brings compulsory retirement to workers whose premium days have expired.

"Öz Sağlık-İş" health workers union Chairman Devlet Sert sent a letter to three ministers.

The union Chairman Devlet Sert, Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Bilgin, Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca and Minister of Family and Social Services Derya Yanık sent a letter to ministers, stating that while the Delayed retirement age victims (EYT) regulations were being made, compulsory retirement concerns thousands of workers who were appointed with the Decree No. 696. drew attention to the danger in its application.

Devlet Sert sent the same letter to the deputy chairpersons of the political parties that have groups in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.

Sert stated that if there is no voluntary retirement application in EYT, the lack of experienced personnel in the public sector, especially for workers who are transferred from subcontractors, will reach its peak and the state will be under the burden of a very heavy severance pay.

"VOLUNTEERING MUST BE BASED ON EYT"

In the letter he sent to the Ministries in which the union is organized and the Minister of Labor and Social Security, who carried out the EYT arrangement, "Öz Sağlık İş" Union Chairman Devlet Sert drew attention to the necessity of taking volunteerism as a basis in EYT.

In his harsh letter he stated:

"The retirement conditions of these personnel, who were appointed as a result of the regulation made with the Decree Law No. 696, are to be sent to compulsory retirement on the day they deserve to receive a pension according to the temporary article 23 added to the Decree No. 375 with the Article 127 of the Decree No. 696. formatted. In this context, we have been continuing our objections to the 'Obligatory Retirement' issue, which we regard as contrary to the equality principle of the Constitution since 2018."

"IF REGULATION IS NOT MADE, THERE WILL NOT BE EXPERIENCED WORKERS IN THE PUBLIC"

"This transaction, which will create a big gap in the field of health and social services in the public sector by retiring approximately 30 thousand experienced-senior workers in their 40s, is in conflict with the current pension policies, and it is in contradiction with the civil servants or former permanent workers who started to work through Turkish Employment Agency (İŞ-KUR). It also reveals great inequality among workers. As the union, we first demand the removal of the regulation that will cause compulsory retirement in the Decree Law No. 696, and a regulation regarding the optional retirement conditions if an evaluation will be made within the scope of EYT," he added.
