The call for the appointment of teachers, which is frequently brought to the agenda by the Milli Gazete, is waiting in front of the President. More than 2,5 months have passed since the good news of the appointment was given by the Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer, a statement came from the Justice and Development Party (AKP) regarding the appointments. AKP Deputy Chairman Numan Kurtulmus announced that the appointment is before President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Pre-service teachers reacted to the statement.
While no official announcement has been made regarding the appointment of teachers, which is often brought to the agenda by the Milli Gazete, the eyes of teacher candidates waiting for appointment are on the appointment of teachers. According to the data of Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs) regarding the unassigned teachers, there are around 800,000 teachers who wait for appointment and a shortage around 150,000 teachers. Appointments made every year by the Ministry of National Education (MEB) do not solve the problems of teachers waiting for appointment. With the 15,000 appointments announced in the middle of September and the appointment was made on the last day of January, the problems of the teachers waiting for appointment could not be resolved.

Regarding the statement, while the teachers interpreted the statements as a political statement, it was reminded that Kurtulmuş made a similar statement in the past. Noting that the explanations were made to gain time, the teachers reminded that the 2021 Public Personnel Selection Examination (KPSS) scores will be invalid after 4 months.
