President Erdoğan, during the reception of the members of the Turkish Jewish Community and the Rabbinical Alliance of Islamic Countries, "Turkey-Israel relations are vital for the stability and security of our region," he said.
The Times of Israel website evaluated President Erdogan's statements as "incredibly positive".
An Israeli political official said Erdogan's statements were "surprising and unfamiliar".
"It represents a powerful message that needs to be evaluated and answered appropriately," the Israeli official said.
Earlier this week, Ankara hosted the Rabbinical Alliance of Islamic Countries (ARIS) meeting.
Rabbis representing Iran, Egypt, Tunisia, Albania, Kosovo, United Arab Emirates, Azerbaijan, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Kazakhstan and Russia attended the meeting.
During the reception of the members of the Turkish Jewish Community and the Rabbinical Alliance of Islamic Countries at the Presidential Palace, Erdoğan said that he found this meeting, which took place at a time when intolerance was escalating all over the world, as extremely important.
"Despite our differences of opinion on Palestine, our relations with Israel in the fields of economy, trade and tourism are progressing in their own way. Israel's sincere and constructive attitude in the context of peace efforts will undoubtedly contribute to the normalization process," Erdogan said.

Taking pride in the normalization steps taken by the government, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu stated that contacts with the UAE, Egypt, Bahrain and Israel continue.
Speaking at the Year-End Evaluation Meeting, Çavuşoğlu stated that the mutually appointed representatives with Armenia will hold the first meeting in Moscow, and that Armenia's demand is in this direction.
Taking pride in the normalization steps taken by the AKP government, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu announced that talks with the UAE, Egypt, Bahrain and Israel are continuing.
