In a written statement made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, it was hoped that the reached agreement would pave the way for the complete cessation of conflicts in the country, and thanked Saudi Arabia and the United States for their role in the said agreement.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Foreign Affairs also welcomed the agreement and wished it would constitute a step towards a comprehensive and permanent agreement.
The foreign ministries of Kuwait, Bahrain, Egypt and Jordan also demanded the ceasefire agreement to finally end the conflicts in Sudan, and appreciated the role played by the United States and Saudi Arabia in reaching this agreement.
In a statement, the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that it welcomed the agreement and confirmed that it would abide by the terms of the agreement.
The tripartite mechanism consisting of the United Nations, African Union and the Intergovernmental Development Authority (IGAD) also announced that it welcomed the agreement and urged the two sides to abide by the ceasefire.
Saudi Arabia and the United States announced that the 7-day ceasefire between the clashing army in Sudan and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) will come into effect on May 22, 21:45 local time in Sudan, and the talks in the city of Jeddah will continue to resolve the crisis in Sudan.
The short-term ceasefire agreement, which aims to "deliver emergency humanitarian aid and provide basic services" to be implemented throughout Sudan, includes the parties' compliance with the commitments made in the Jeddah Declaration regarding humanitarian obligations.
