While the process related to the EYT is coming to an end, Chairman of the Independent Public Employees' Unions Confederation (BASK), Mehmet Alper Öğretici, pointed out that if another regulation is not made, another EYT problem will arise in the future. He stated that the grievances will occur because that there is more time for the retirement of the citizens who employed after October 2008, have not been noticed yet.
“BIG LOSSES IN PENSION MUST BE AVOIDED”
Drawing attention to the injustice that will occur with the change in retiree attachment rates, Öğretici stated that with the regulation to be made to EYT, arrangements should be made regarding future grievances, and said, “The grievances of civil servants who took office after October 1, 2008 due to Law No. 5510 should be addressed, in order not to have an new EYT in the next period, great losses in retirement must be avoided. Before October 1, 2008, the monthly bonding rate is applied as 3 percent per year. In other words, while 75 percent pension paid for the employees who worked for 25 years, after October 1, 2008, the pension rate is applied as 2 percent for each year. In other words, it is paid monthly at a rate of 50 percent for a 25-year employee.”
“NEEDED ARRANGEMENTS MUST BE MADE WITHOUT VICTIMIZATIONS”
Reminding that the grievances that will occur are valid for the post-2008 year, Öğretici emphasized that there is more time for retirements and said, “Since there is more time for those who started working after October 1, 2008 to retire, this situation will not come to the fore much, but there will be great grievances in the coming years. Moreover, the first victims will be our disabled civil servants, since the retirement procedures for those who started after October 1, 2008 as disabled civil servants are earlier. Necessary arrangements should be made for the relevant law, in which the retirement bond rates have changed significantly, and the retirement ages have changed, before any grievances occur.”
