"Hak-İş" Confederation President Mahmut Arslan celebrated the 569th anniversary of the Conquest of Istanbul with a written statement.
Arslan noted that the Conquest of Istanbul was an important event not only for our region and our history, but also for the entire world history.
"WITH THE STRENGTH WE GAIN FROM OUR HISTORY, WE WILL WALK INTO THE FUTURE WITH CONFIDENT STEPS"
Arslan stated that there is a need for the 'Spirit of Conquest' based on brotherhood and peace today, where chaos and unrest are increasing.
"It is not time to slander or denigrate the past, but to take our country further by embracing the past and taking an example from our glorious history. It is no use for anyone to make important names that left their mark on history, who opened the age and closed the age, as a daily political material and a means of reckoning, and to use derogatory expressions on the glorious names of the past. Taking care of its ancestors, Turkey will take more confident steps into the future with the strength it receives from its history," Arslan said.
"THE CONQUEST MUST BE TOLD TO YOUTH"
Emphasizing that it is also important to tell the changes caused by the Conquest of Istanbul, especially to the new generations, "It is our great responsibility to ensure that the youth of the 21st century first experience the glory of conquest in their minds, and that humanity, which has hit rock bottom, is revived with the spirit of conquest in 1453 and brings the world from darkness to light," Arslan added.
