Speaking to Milli Gazete on the occasion of the 44th anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation, Saadet Party Chairman of the High Advisory Council and former Minister of Internal Affairs Oğuzhan Asiltürk said that the Cyprus Peace Operation has began after the 1974.

Expressing that the current government is almost to give Cyprus, Asiltürk said, "This government is trying to remove the military presence by the pressure of the Westerners. This means that Cyprus is given to the Greeks. If Cyprus is given to please any Westerner in Cyprus or to enter the European Union, seven of these powers can not account in the hereafter," he said.

Important anecdote from Asiltürk

There was a representative of America named Sisko. He politely threatened us, saying that America did not want us to intervene. He said that America's 6th Fleet was also in motion in the Strait of Gibraltar, and that if he intervened. Erbakan Hodja was a very decent person, and Sisko, who did not wait for it when he told him politely that this work would be done and was certain, was nervous. He was so angry that he got stuck on his way out. Because the Americans did not even take the wit, we would not listen to them and make the operation happen.

During the process of going to Cyprus Peace Operation, you are the Minister of the Interior. Could you tell us about the pre-operational lives?

The Greeks had massacred twice before we established our government in Cyprus. In the first place Ismet Pasha was the prime minister and this massacre took place in Cyprus, and then he gave orders with the air of commanders in the past and the ships acted to stop this massacre in Cyprus. But with the pressure of America, the ships were returned. Afterwards, Prime Minister Demirel, was more than a massacre, and that Turkey had likewise desire to prevent Demirel still in the army and gave orders. In the same way, the vessels moved from Mersin, again under pressure from America and back again. At that time cartoons appeared in the European press, and they were published after the events. The Turkish army shows that they are going to Cyprus and they are returning to Mersin in the first square. The two of us had a mockery of returning.

Finally, once again the same issue, "we should definitely intervene," he said in a Cabinet of Minister Erbakan Hoca allegedly defended that eventual decision was made to intervene in the Council of Ministers. Then Kissinger was foreign minister. One day Ecevit's private pen director came to me and said, 'Kissinger called 14 times.' The size of the print is so big. As a result, it will be very accurate even if I tell you what happens if America intervenes. According to the fact that he was remembered then a representative of the United States came to Sisko. Prime Minister Ecevit's assistant, Erbakan politely threatened us, saying that America does not want to intervene. He said if you intervene that the sixth flotilla of America is in motion from the Strait of Gibraltar. Erbakan Hodja was a very decent person, and Sisko, who did not wait for it when he told him politely that this work would be done and was certain, was nervous. He was so angry that he got stuck on his way out. Because the Americans did not even take the wit, we would not listen to them and make the operation happen. An American says something, 6. The fleet will come to Cyprus and the Turks will not accept it. Erbakan, "6.th fleet does not care about us, but we are going to carry out this operation," he said, rushing with a pace and nerve. After that, of course, intervention was done.

But with Kissinger's insistence, Mr.Ecevit was not opposed, but he said, "If the three states are guarantors of Cyprus, these countries can correct this situation with existing agreements. Let's go to England, which is the guarantor then, let's talk about ourselves and let's move more comfortably. "Erbakan Hoca also said" Okay "in the Council of Ministers and we went to England as delegation. I listen to Erbakan Hodja after he arrives. Semih Sancar Bey said, "Mr. Erbakan has gone abroad and now you have all the authority of the prime minister to represent the prime minister. We have been ordered twice and returned to both. The reputation of the army was shaken too much and there was a kind of discomfort in itself. Do you promise us by representing the prime minister, will this operation be done or not? "Erbakan Hodja is starting preparations as soon as absolutely will be done."
