Our country is on fire. We are struggling with forest fires and great disasters that started at hundreds of points after the flood disaster. Forest fires have certain causes. To summarize briefly;

First; is a natural disaster. With seasonal changes and global warming, temperatures above normal, strong winds blowing in summer cause fires. That is the natural course of business.

Second; negligence, negligence and carelessness. The irresponsible behavior of the citizens who go to the mountains, to the hillside, to the meadow, to the picnic; not putting out the ash by burning a barbecue, lighting a fire and not taking enough precautions, wastes thrown into the environment, flammable and combustible materials and of course cigarette butts. Smoking is one of the major causes of fire in our country.

Third; Terrorism is its affiliations and extensions. Terrorism, as the first and easy address that can be easily manipulated by the public and where the invoice can be issued immediately, is an easy and cheap method of targeting someone. Because people's hearts/lungs burn with forest fire. In return, a guilt-seeking psychology and a sense of revenge rekindle.

In this environment, since it is not possible to hold accountable persons, state administrators and negligents; it is easy to cut the bill on terrorism and to hold accountable those whom it thinks are connected with. By ignoring other possibilities, the ground for internal conflict is suddenly being prepared.

Fourth; It is an operation of secret service elements and intelligence wars. One of the important items of intelligence wars between countries in the world is known as forest fires. If there is a negotiation going on at the time or a job that needs to be hidden from the public, it is easily taken care of. In the nineties, one of the former prime ministers, Mesut Yılmaz, although he later said that he was misunderstood, "Burning forests in Greece was a state secret", the information revealed by its disclosure takes place in the political memory of our recent history.

Fifth; are done for safety reasons. Everyone knows the newspaper headlines in the past, about the burning of forests in order to clear the areas where terrorists are sheltering. Likewise, deforestation along the border is one of the works done for border protection.

Finally; zoning-rent incident. Fires are located in tourism regions, where the rent is high, suitable for construction, but closed to construction due to forest; hotel, motel, tourism area, entertainment facility etc. It happens in places suitable for construction or in areas that are closed to construction in settlements, for some reason!

The cause of the forest fires is currently unknown. We do not know the cause of the fires among those we have listed, it could be one or all of them.

SOCIAL CONSEQUENCES OF FIRE

Fire has social consequences as well as physical consequences. If it is a natural disaster, no one has anything to say. If there is negligence, necessary action should be taken by those responsible.

Who benefits from preparing the ground for internal turmoil by targeting certain people in the absence of clear evidence? What purpose does it serve to agitate the public, to conduct road and identity checks by violating public power?

With the forest fires, the voices of revolt and resignation slogans reached the peak. Despite the fact that the administration has dozens of planes and the fires that occur every year, it is on the agenda that the necessary precautions are not taken.

With the decree, the administrative savings regarding the construction in the burned areas were transferred to the Ministry of Tourism. While the fires could not be brought under control, the publication of such a decree is significant.

Today is a day of solidarity, not polarization. The victim should try to understand the other side instead of making literature, and it should be accepted that criticism can be a constructive warning, not an attack.

The method of fighting fire rather than fire is being discussed in the country today and people are being dragged to a new ground of internal conflict in the country.

Those in the position of responsibility should fulfill their responsibilities, put an end to negligence, those who are negligent should be punished in the most severe way and bad intentions should not be given an opportunity.

Corruption has spread on land and sea as a result of what people’s hands have done, so that Allah may cause them to taste ˹the consequences of˺ some of their deeds and perhaps they might return 'to the Right Path'. (Surah Rum, 41)

Even in war, nature is not harmed, it is known that harming nature is consuming the future. As a result of forest fires, the ecological balance in the country is disturbed, drought occurs, water resources dry up, people, animals and plants are devastated.

Any attack on our oxygen field, our forests, is the greatest evil done to humanity. To mean inner peace is a greater evil than that. Lessons must be learned from disasters.
