At least eight police officials were killed Monday and three others wounded in an armed attack targeting a security control point in Egypt's southern Al-Wadi Al-Jadid (New Valley) governorate, according to health officials.
The attackers have not been identified, and there has not been any claim of responsibility.
Spokesman of the Egyptian Health Ministry, Khalid Mujahid told reporters that several ambulances were dispatched to the scene.
