While contracted teachers could not benefit from the right to family union, which is the right of permanent teachers stemming from their status, ‘Eğitim-Bir-Sen’ Educators Trade Union applied to the Ministry of National Education (MEB) for the right of relocation due to family union excuse for contracted teachers. In a statement made by ‘Eğitim-Bir-Sen’, it demanded that the request for family unity be made in February 2022.
“REPLACEMENT OPERATIONS HAVE BEEN MADE IN THE PAST”
‘Egitim-Bir-Sen’ applied to the Ministry of National Education and requested that the inter-provincial relocation procedures be carried out in February 2022 in order to ensure the family unity of the spouses working as contracted teachers in different provinces. It was also reminded that in the past years, inter-provincial relocation procedures were carried out in order to ensure the family unity of spouses, who both worked as contracted teachers in different provinces within the scope of article 4/B in the official education institutions affiliated to the ministry.
“A CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT 'FAMILY INTEGRITY' MUST BE REALIZED"
In the statement, it was stated that contracted teachers in the Ministry of National Education had demands based on family unity, "In order to ensure family integrity, which is a constitutional right and a requirement of universal law, the practice in the past years should also be carried out in February 2022," the statement said.

In the letter sent to the Ministry of National Education by ‘Eğitim-Bir-Sen’, it was reminded that inter-provincial relocation procedures were carried out in order to ensure the unity of contracted teachers and their families in the past years.
"It is essential that the relocation procedures based on family integrity of spouses working in the position of contracted teacher be carried out in February 2022," the letter added.
