There was no solution to the long-standing grievances of family physicians.

The problems related to this area, which was ignored by the government, turned into a huge avalanche.

While there were 3 stoppage actions in the last year against the problems, if the problems were not resolved, the 4th time to stop work under the leadership of the Federation of Family Physicians Associations (AHEF) was at the door.

AHEF President Kemal Noyan underlined that they expect a solution to the grievances experienced, and noted that family physicians are struggling with despair.

"Violence in healthcare has been on the rise recently. Violent perpetrators are also walking on the streets waving their arms. We want the Ministry of Health to make a regulation on the subject. Family physicians become uneasy and lose their motivation due to the violence experienced," he said.

OUR DOCTORS CANNOT MEET THE COSTS

Stating that the expenses of Family Health Centers have increased by more than 100 percent, Noyan said, "While the progress payments of the minimum wage personnel working in our centers increased by 50 percent, the Ministry of Health increased the payments made to support the expenses of the Family Health Centers by 30 percent. At this rate, our centers that cannot afford their expenses will be closed. In some provinces, property owners, who use rent increases as an excuse, send warnings to our centers. Our physicians cannot afford the costs in this case."

Emphasizing that the Contract and Payment Regulation introduced in July has almost turned into a “Penal Regulation” for Family Physicians, Noyan said, "Instead of improving the rights of our Family Physicians, the regulation turned into a penal regulation. For example, a physician who received 5 warnings, even if he had an excuse, was faced with the fact that his contract was not renewed. This situation not only eliminated the job security of our physicians but also lowered the morale of the employees."

Underlining that the problems need to be resolved, Noyan stated that as AHEF, they will carry out a work stoppage if the problems are not resolved, "If personal rights are not improved, we will carry out our work stoppage action, which will be the 4th time in the last year, between 17 and 18 February. We wonder how long the ministry will ignore us," he said.
