In the first phase of the project, researches were carried out in the Archives of Cyprus Vakiflar Archives, Cypriot National Archives, Map Office Directorate, Title Deed Office and Accident Deed Directorates, Archives of Vakıflar General Directorate in Turkey, Prime Ministry Ottoman Archives and General Directorate of Land Registry Caddesi. Twenty million records were retrieved, from 2443 Logbooks of documents accumulated over four centuries from 1571 to 1974, and eight million documents / information contained in 13,000 files. The ones related to the transfer of ownership made on the Cypriot goods of Cyprus were identified and the data were scanned and electronic affairs were uploaded.
 

ALL TYPES OF DOCUMENTS SCANNED

 
Parallel to the archive works, a comprehensive bibliography was prepared by searching the literature consisting of books, articles, theses and reports related to Cyprus Foundations. Since the Ottoman - British Alliance Agreement signed on June 4, 1878, all legislation concerning Cyprus foundations has been compiled. The necessary analyzes were made and necessary notes were taken. In addition, the interviews were conducted with real persons who had been in senior positions in the institutions and organizations that were designated as research areas in Cyprus, or who had previously conducted research in these subjects, and the documents in these individuals' private archives were also introduced into the system.
 

HUGE ARCHIVE STUDY

 
In the statement made by the Cyprus Foundation Administration, the purpose of the project was "to identify all kinds of archive materials related to the Turkish foundations established in the island from the Ottoman conquest (1571), to upload them to a database working on the Internet and establishing a relationship with the foundation and inquiring to produce authentic and accurate information that can be accessed instantly. Among these, it is a priority to make a complete determination of Cypriot foundations and foundation real estate, and to evaluate the legal framework of property transfers in the British Colonial Period and the Republic of Cyprus."
 

CYPRUS COOPERATION INFORMATION SYSTEM: KIVABIS

 
Cyprus Cypriot Information System, briefly called KIVABIS, was designed in accordance with the purpose of the project, with the capacity to be monitored in terms of location, time, source / document, quality and quantity of establishment, development, change and transformation of historical foundations. The KIVABİS model includes the changes in status such as management (trustee) changes, acquisition of new property / property, renting of existing properties, istbdali, likely to pass after foundation of a foundation, legal framework allowing these changes, transactions related to charities established in foundation, etc. it allows the investigation of all the faults. The system has 1744 GB / 1.7 TB of information and documents. There are 424616 documents, including most document images. Of these, 37049 are the bookkeepers. 288661 of them were recorded in the data base. In connection with these stubs, 41496 place names and 85873 person names were entered into the database.

There is also an advanced map interface integrated with the Google Earth and Google Maps tools in the system. The first of the two functions of the system is to show the information about the Cyprus foundation goods on the map; secondly, from here, to ensure that the information and documents kept in the database of this property are easily accessible.
 

CYPRUS FOUNDATIONS IN NUMBERS

 
According to the research carried out within the scope of the project, 2220 foundations were established in Cyprus and 393 mosques and masjids, 63 schools, 14 madrasas, 41 tekke, zaviye, tombs and 275 cemeteries were found. This hayrat, whose lists were made, was processed on the Cyprus map. When this map is examined, it is clearly understood that Muslim Turks have created a dense population density all over the island.
