The accommodation problem of university students could not be solved. Although Minister of Youth and Sports Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu made statements that the quotas in KYK dormitories are sufficient, students still continue to wait for a solution to the housing problem. The decision taken by Aydın Adnan Menderes University, on the other hand, revealed the housing problem again.
THE PROBLEM IS STILL NOT SOLVED
As a result of the inadequacy of state dormitories, private dormitories accepting students with exorbitant prices and exorbitant house rents, the problem of accommodation for students has been on the agenda frequently for the last 2 years. The issue that has been raised has not been resolved yet. Despite major problems, students are waiting for the start of the education period. While the students who go to the universities they have won are thinking of leaving the school due to the housing problem and returning, some students who cannot find a place, stay at their friends' houses temporarily.
NO NEED TO ATTEND THE CLASSES
Aydın Adnan Menderes University (ADU), announced that there will be no obligation to attend classes in the first 2 weeks of the new term due to the inability of students to solve their housing problems for the 2022-2023 academic year. In the statement made by the Senate, it was pointed out that the classes will start on September 26, the statement said, “In order for the students not to experience any unjust treatment in terms of accommodation, due to the fact that there are students who have not been able to solve the housing problem and that some of the official and private dormitories in our province are not ready for the new academic year, it was unanimously decided not to require students to attend classes in the first two weeks of the 2022-2023 academic year fall semester in our university’s faculties, colleges and vocational schools. It will minimize the problems if before our students come to Aydın, they come to our city in contact with official and private dormitories. It is announced to the public by the Senate of our university.”
