The ballot papers used in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) were sent to Turkey for the General Elections for the President and the 28th Term of Parliament to be held on May 14.
After the end of the voting process, which lasted for 13 days (April 27-May 9), in the TRNC, the ballot papers departed from Ercan Airport to be delivered to Türkiye by diplomatic cargo.
In the TRNC, where the total number of voters is 140,111, 82,587 people voted for the elections in Türkiye.
The turnout in the 14 May elections in the TRNC was 59.1 percent.
For the Presidential and Deputy General Elections held in the TRNC in 2018, 42,818 people out of 106 thousand 446 voters cast their votes, and the turnout rate was below 50 percent.
