Reactions are rising to Fener Greek Patriarch Bartholomew's participation in the Ukrainian Peace Conference held in Switzerland with the title of "ecumenical".
Bartholomeos, who was the only "religious leader" invited to the conference held in Zurich on June 15-16 and addressed the participants with the title of "ecumenical", added a new one to Turkey's attempts to violate national sovereignty rights.
The discomfort caused by the Fener Greek Patriarchate constantly bringing up the adjective "ecumenical", the use of which is strictly prohibited according to the Constitution and laws of the Republic of Turkey and the Treaty of Lausanne, continues to grow.
It is known that the Patriarchate administration aims to turn the Patriarchate region in Fatih into a "Vatican" model autonomous religious region by legitimizing its "ecumenical" title.

The phrase "ecumenical patriarch" on the Trabzonspor jersey given to Bartholomeos during his visit to Trabzon in 2022 created a crisis.
Fatih District Governorship issued a harsh statement regarding this crisis.
"The claim of 'ecumenicality' of the Fener Greek Patriarchate, which is considered a religious organization affiliated with the Fatih District Governorship in the minutes of the Treaty of Lausanne and judicial decisions, is not compatible with legal facts," the statement said.
