The New Year's Eve celebrations, which connect 31 December to 1 January every year, are celebrated with various sinful events, and all kinds of outbursts are experienced, this year invites people to drift into the forbidden swamp. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, one of the prominent countries of the Islamic world, a decision was taken that should set an example for all municipalities of the Islamic world. After the decision to cancel the New Year's Eve celebrations in Bosnia and Herzegovina due to the coronavirus pandemic, considering public health, another meaningful decision also was taken. Sarajevo Municipality announced that allocated approximately 25,000 Euros (£) from the municipal budget for New Year's celebrations will be spent on the treatment of children with cancer and diabetes in the country.

SICK CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES WILL REJOICE

In Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the metropolitan municipality administration decided to donate the money allocated for the canceled New Year's Eve celebration program to the sick children in the country. The proposal of the Mayor of Sarajevo, Benjamina Karic, it was approved by the City Council. In accordance with the decision, which gives the families of sick children from Bosnia and Herzegovina a festive atmosphere, approximately 25,000 Euros will be spent on the treatment of children with cancer and diabetes.

BE AN EXAMPLE FOR MUNICIPALITIES! AVERT THE HARAM

In Turkey and all over the Islamic world, billions of money are wasted from the budgets of municipalities every year under the name of New Year's celebration. From a spiritual point of view, alcohol, gambling, drugs, adultery and all kinds of sins promoted by Satan are committed on New Year's Eve. This meaningful decision taken by the Municipality of Sarajevo; it sets an example for the municipalities of the Islamic world. The cancellation of New Year's celebrations, which do not suit the Muslim identity in any way, and the distribution of the money allocated for the celebrations to people in need, is interpreted as a more Islamic and humanitarian stance. Considering both our Islamic sensitivities, economic difficulties and humanitarian crises, the cancellation of New Year's events to be organized by public institutions seems to be a right decision that needs to be taken urgently. The New Year's Eve celebrations, in which Satan puts millions of people into sins and celebrates, stands as a black mark that does not suit the Islamic world in any way.
