The Confederation of Turkish Tradesmen and Craftsmen (TESK) Chairman Bendevi Palandöken made a statement saying, “As an electricity bill that is special to tradesmen and with the removal of taxes will reduce costs, it will also positively affect the prices of the products sold by the tradesmen,” he said. The President of the Confederation of Turkish Tradesmen and Craftsmen (TESK), Bendevi Palandöken, repeated his proposal for the tradesmen who were crushed by high electricity bills. Palandoken asked for a special electricity tariff for tradesmen.
TRADESMEN CANNOT OPEN THE SHOP
Stating that the change in electricity tariffs on March 1 did not solve the problems of the shopkeepers, Palandöken added, “Our shopkeepers in many different sectors are suffering from these electricity bills, such as our grocery shopkeepers who give up even selling ice cream when summer comes, our cafe restaurant operators who do not operate their cooling fans. Our tradesmen should be removed from the status of business and special tariffs should be applied. An electricity bill that is special to tradesmen and with the abolition of taxes will reduce costs, so it will also positively affect the prices of the products sold by the tradesmen.”
CRAFTSMAN AND MANUFACTURER WANT INPUTS REDUCING
Speaking about the exorbitant price hikes and high inflation figures in food products recently, Palandöken said, “Today, producers and tradesmen want to use discounted electricity while keeping their shops open and irrigating their fields. It demands reduced fertilizer and fuel oil. If these are provided, inflation will decrease and the purchasing power of the people will increase. A permanent solution will be found while the markets are relieved.”
