Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım said Turkey has been hosting around 3 million refugees and continues to provide them all types of support. Speaking at the ICAPP Special Conference on “Migration and Refugees”, Yıldırım said that Turkey's efforts in helping the refugees is appreciated widely.

“Appreciation is a nice thing, but insufficient. They should become a partner in these responsibilities,” Turkish PM said indicating the western states' rhetoric on Turkey's refugee dealing. He said that Turkey has already spent around 25 billion dollars from domestic sources and is not regretful over this. Turkey has a deep history of hosting oppressed people, PM Yıldırım said, adding that the country continues its commitment to the helpless people, despite facing terror attacks and a bloody coup attempt.

Highlighting that there were around 55 million displaced people around the world, Turkish premier criticized the United Nations' lack of efforts to address their needs.
He said that Syria is facing a humanitarian catastrophe, but the developed countries continue to remain in silence against this tragedy, though they could do more for the peace and safety of civilians.
