Turkey’s benchmark stock index started the day with a 12.73-point increase to open at 93,845.43 points on Tuesday.
On the second trading day of the week, the BIST 100 index rose by 0.01 percent.
The banking and holding sector indices declined by 0.09 percent and 0.30 percent, respectively.
Among all sectors, the trade sector index was the best performer with a 1.86-percent rise while the information technology index started the day with the biggest decline, falling by 1.12 percent.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 3.590 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Tuesday, compared with 3.570 at Monday’s close.
The BIST 100 was down 93.832 points or 0.10 percent at the close of trade on Monday to reach 93,832.00 points, with a total trading volume of 5 billion Turkish liras (approximately $1.4 billion).
