Turkey's benchmark index started the day with a 425.81-point increase to open at 96,013.55 points on Tuesday.
On the second transaction day of the week, the BIST 100 index rose 0.45 percent.
The banking and holding sector indices increased by 0.43 percent and 0.59 percent, respectively.
Among all sectors, the sports sector index was the best performer -- up 1.45 percent.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 3.5440 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Tuesday, compared with 3.5540 at Monday’s close.
The BIST 100 was up 591.40 points or 0.62 percent to reach 95,587.75 points at the close of trade on Monday, with a total trading volume of 4.1 billion Turkish liras (around $1.1 billion).
