The general election results in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is governed by the triple presidency system, which is defined as the most complex political structure in the world, revealed a political picture that will increase the gains of the Serbs. The party of Bosnian Serb leader Milorad Dodik, who came to the forefront with its separatist actions aimed at breaking up Bosnia and Herzegovina, won the elections in its own region, while the Democratic Action Party (SDA), of which Aliyah Izzetbegovic was the founding leader, lost the elections. Expressing his satisfaction with the election results, the seperatist Dodik said, “After this victory, of course, it will be easier for us to separate Republika Srpska from Bosnia. We will liberate the Republika Srpska,” he gave the signal of new crises that will affect the politics of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
11 PARTY ALLIANCE MAKE GOVERNMENT PARTY SDA TO LOSE
SDA candidate Bakir Izzetbegovic, competing for the Bosniak membership of the Presidential Council, the highest position in the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, received 46 percent of the votes, while, Denis Becirovic, the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the candidate of the opposition alliance of 11 political parties, , received 49 percent of the vote. Connecting his loss of the elections to the alliance of 11 political parties, Bakir İzzetbegovic said, “It was difficult for us to be successful against the alliance of 11 parties. SDA has increased its votes over the last two elections. SDA is still the strongest party in Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
THE PARTY FOUNDED BY THE LATE ALIYAH IZZETBEGOVIC LOST THE ELECTIONS
According to the results of the elections held in Bosnia and Herzegovina on Sunday, the names that will take part in the Tripartite Presidency Council have been announced. While the Croats continued with the current council member of the presidency, Zeljko Komsic, the Serbs brought the party of Milodrad Dodik, who stood out with his separatist actions and rhetoric, to the first place in the ballot box. On the Bosnian side, a surprising result came out of the ballot box. The Democratic Action Party (SDA), the party of the late Aliyah Izzetbegovic, the founding leader of Bosnia and Herzegovina, completed the elections in second place and lost his right to be represented in the tripartite presidency council.
SEPERATIST DODIK IS SATISFIED WITH THE ELECTION RESULTS
The political figure who was most satisfied with the election results in Bosnia and Herzegovina was Bosnian Serb leader Milorad Dodik. Zeljka Cvijanovic, the candidate of Dodik's party, which has dragged Bosnia and Herzegovina from crisis to crisis with her separatist rhetoric and actions in recent years, came first from the polls. Evaluating the election results with arrogant expressions, the separatist Dodik said, “Of course, it will be easier for us to separate Republika Srpska. Republika Srpska will regain its independence. I certainly don't expect anything normal from the abnormal side. I have no intention of congratulating them. Let them congratulate me.”
NEW PRESIDENT BECIROVIC: "WE WILL NOT PERMIT TO DIVIDE BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA"
Denis Becirovic, who won the election on the side of the Bosnians, said that they would prioritize correcting the country's economy as a management approach. Known as a moderate political actor, Becirovic, in an assessment he made during the election process, once said they do not permit to divide Bosnia and Herzegovina. He said he would not compromise against those who wanted it. Becirovic said, “The capital of the Bosnian Republika Srpska is Sarajevo, not Belgrade. Republika Srpska is included in the borders of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We all know that you will not get anything from the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, no matter how much Dodik says otherwise."
SERBIA REJECTED THE MODERATE CANDIDATE, CHOSE SEPERATIST DODIK
Moderate opposition candidate Jelena Trivic, who ran against Milorad Dodik in Republika Srpska, also displayed an anti-seperatist political stance. Stating that the Bosnian Republika Srpska should not be a focal point of the conflicts between Russia and the USA, Trivic said, “In the current global geopolitics, Republika Srpska must remain committed to peace. When we take office, our first goal will be the fight against corruption, political stability and economic strengthening of our country. Under the current conditions, Republika Srpska does not have the conditions to move towards independence. The realization of this will be a great political burden for Serbia and should not be allowed. We have state elements in Bosnia, because more than 75 percent of the responsibilities for people's lives are already under the jurisdiction of the government of Republika Srpska.”
