Cihan Kolivar, President of the Bread Producers Employers' Union, stated that the bread sold for 5 TL in Istanbul could reach 7.5 TL before December.
Cihan Kolivar said following words:
"The month is not over, bread is not less than 7.5 TL in Istanbul. If the government does not supply us the electricity and natural gas at home-style prices, we will make the bread for 7.5 TL. If the government give electricity to licensed bakeries at a domestic price, our cost will decrease, the baker wie will bell also take a breather, and ther no increase. Currently, 80 percent of the bakeries in Istanbul are in a swamp state. They buy flour daily. The bill of each bakery increased tremendously, 40-50 thousand TL began to come."
