The ruling party, which blames the exorbitant fuel hikes on Brent oil prices, the increase in the exchange rate, and the citizens, does not take the hikes back enough despite the decrease in prices. After the price of Brent oil, which rose to 130 dollars at the beginning of March, the government, which increased after the increase, did not make sufficient discounts even though the price dropped to 110 dollars in mid-March. The price of Brent oil, which is at the level of 100 dollars these days, still has not brought up enough discounts in fuel oil. There was a discount on the diesel the other day. The liter price of diesel in Istanbul fell to 20,18 Turkish Liras (TL). While the liter of gasoline is sold for an average of 19 TL, no discount is expected in gasoline and LPG.
HIKES HAS BROUGHT FORTH ANOTHER HIKE
Fuel hikes, which hundreds of thousands of vehicle owners, from shopkeepers to transporters, from taxi drivers to marketers are fed up with, make people unable to work at many points. After the fuel hikes reached an uncontrollable point, the citizen focused on using public transportation. But price hikes gave rise to hikes, and public transportation was also hiked in many cities. The citizen, who closed the contact and switched to using public transportation, was shaken by the price hikes this time.
