Former Minister of National Education Nabi Avcı said in a statement to members of the press that they met with Zarifoğlu's fans, friends, friends and readers at his grave on the occasion of the anniversary of his death.

Expressing that Cahit Zarifoğlu is a "poet-i maderzad", meaning "born poet", Avcı said:

"His poetry was not an 'intellectual' poem, not a poem adorned with 'intellectual' references. But it was very bright poetry. Today, I am sure that especially young people who love poetry will take great tastes from Cahit Zarifoğlu's poetry. For this reason, I would like to remind the readers, young people, mothers, fathers, teachers, on this occasion, especially today, that he wrote both his poems and other works for children."
