Stating that imam hatip schools and faculties of theology should be given importance, Saadet Party General Administrative Board (GIK) Member Necmettin Çalışkan made a press statement on the subject. Necmettin Çalışkan, in his press statement, which was met with great interest by local media members, stated that it was not right for educators to put imam hatip and theology in the background in the preferences of successful students.

Necmettin Çalışkan also reminded that imam hatip and theology faculties are not recommended by some of the educators and pointed out that spiritual development is as important as material development. Saadet Party GİK Member Necmettin Çalışkan stated that schools based on religious education models in the preferences of successful students were put in the background and said, “The most successful students in Turkey are sent to the faculty of medicine and the social scientist to the faculty of education, but if we look at the UK, the situation is different. Intelligent young people who will develop the country study engineering. Just as engineering provides material development to a country, theology also provides spiritual development.”
