President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke at the first group meeting of his party in the new legislative term at the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM).
Former and new deputies of the AK Party confused Erdoğan at the entrance of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. In his speech at the group meeting, Erdoğan harshly criticized the opposition and made evaluations about the economy.
ERDOĞAN'S CALL FOR HEADSCARVES
Responding to CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's statement, - If necessary, I will set up a table of 16, for Turkey to come to the light - Erdoğan said, "It's not enough, you need to increase it even more. Duplicating partners at the table does not yield results. If not the CHP Chairman, but a table of 16 or 160, he will not be able to avoid being slapped by the people at the ballot box."
Erdogan, who also called for a constitutional amendment for the headscarf to the opposition, continued as follows:
"If you are honest and sincere, let's guarantee the headscarf issue with the constitution in the new legislative term."
“WE WILL KEEP THE PROMISE WE MADE TO THE PUBLIC SERVANTS”
Erdoğan noted that the rate of rent increase in residential lease agreements to 25 percent will continue this year as well.
Referring to the 34 percent increase in the minimum wage, Erdoğan said, "With this increase, we realized an interim hike at a rate of 34 percent, which includes the welfare share above inflation. With the last figure, it increased by 107 percent compared to the previous year and by 312 percent in real terms compared to 2022. We do not and will not oppress our employees due to inflation. I hope we will fulfill the promises we made about civil servant salaries before the election. We will take decisive steps in the fight against inflation."
Erdogan stressed that they have started preparations for local elections.
