Cansuyu Aid and Solidarity Association continues its aid activities without stopping. After the flood disaster in Pakistan due to heavy rains that started last June, Cansuyu Aid Association extended a helping hand to the region where the disaster took place.
MILLIONS OF PEOPLE AFFECTED BY THE FLOOD DISASTER
Between the last June and September, Pakistan has experienced 5-6 times more the annual average precipitation in the last 30 years. The balance sheet of the flood disaster caused by heavy rains was heavy. According to the latest Pakistan National Disaster Management Agency data, the rains that have continued since June 14 caused more than 1,400 people lost their lives and 12,728 people were injured in the floods. Of those who lost their lives, 499 were children and 280 were women. While 1 million 734 thousand 345 houses were damaged throughout the country, 568 thousand 817 of them were completely destroyed. While Pakistan called for international help in the face of this heavy picture, Cansuyu Aid Association did not leave this call for help unanswered. The association, which collects aid in Turkey, delivered the emergency humanitarian aid prepared with the donations of philanthropists to the country. With the aid package prepared, food parcels were distributed to 500 families, daily hot meals and hundreds of hygiene kits were distributed to 20 thousand people. The association established 50 disaster tents and health camps in 5 different regions.
THE RISK OF PANDEMIC RISE IN THE COUNTRY
Due to the flood, millions of people left their destroyed homes and settled in tent camps. While the lack of food, clean water and medicine in the camps reached serious levels, millions of people who were victims of disasters faced the risk of pandemic. Tens of thousands of people in 45 regions of the 4 provinces of the country are struggling with diseases such as diarrhea, malaria, dengue fever and typhoid. Cansuyu Aid and Solidarity Association, on the other hand, helps thousands of disaster victims with the health camps it has established in these regions. Health kits are distributed to hundreds of people within the scope of the aid under the heading of health, while health units visit the camps and meet the health needs of the people. Thus, the risk of pandemic in the region is tried to be reduced.
