Automotive Distributors Association (ODD), according to a statement, Turkey cars and light commercial vehicle sales volume in the total market, this year's January-August period last year decreased by 21 percent compared to the same period was 440 thousand 428. In the 8 months of 2017, 555 thousand 991 units were sold in total.
 
Automobile sales fell by 18.51 percent to 344,870 units at the end of August 2018 compared to the same period last year. Light commercial vehicle market, in the January-August period of 2018, decreased by 28,04 percent compared to the same period of previous year was 95 thousand 558.
 
August automobile and light commercial vehicle market was 34 thousand 346 units. According to the total market of cars and light commercial vehicles in August 2017, which is 72 thousand 536, sales decreased by 52.65 percent.
 
Automobile sales in the month of August decreased by 50.85 percent compared to the same month the previous year was 26 thousand 976 units. Light commercial vehicle market shrank by 58.23 percent compared to the month of August of 2017 to 7 thousand 370.
 
At the end of August, 18.5 percent of car sales under 1600cc, 25.7 percent in car sales with 1600-2000 cc engine capacity, and 22.7 percent decrease in cars over 2000 cc.
 
At the end of August, the share of diesel car sales decreased to 59.41 percent, while the share of automatic transmissions increased to 65 percent. When evaluated according to case types, the most preferred type of body was 51 percent share and 175 thousand 721 sales were sedan automobiles.
