Eğitim Bir Sen union, addressing the Ministry of National Education (MEB), asked why the risk foreseen for other teachers is not foreseen for preschool teachers.
After the rapid increase in the number of cases, new decisions regarding education and training were made one after another. Education-related measures, which were applied gradually before, were reconsidered.
At a time when distance education was started at all grade levels, there was a strong reaction from "Eğitim Bir Sen" that pre-school education would continue. The union criticized the decision taken for pre-school because the teachers were in the same risk group.
In the statement made by the union, the decision taken by the Ministry of National Education, "MEB does not see the risk for other teachers as a reason for preschool teachers. Within the scope of Covid-19 measures, 8-12. The exclusion of pre-school from the scope of distant education at all levels except classes has once again revealed the perspective of the Ministry of National Education (MEB) towards our pre-school teachers," it was said.

In the statement of Eğitim-Bir-Sen, it was also mentioned that public personnel with children under the age of 10 are also considered on administrative leave and that the openness of pre-school institutions causes a contradiction, "While public officials with children under the age of 10 are considered to have administrative leave and resume working flexibly in public, what purpose will preschool institutions that are claimed to be left open (with the intention of kindergarten) considering working mothers? While it is essential that education is done face-to-face, it has not been a fair decision not to include preschool education in the measures taken due to the epidemic. MEB should stop associating preschool with day care center and kindergarten, should correct its point of view and revise its decision," it was said.
