Chemical investigation expert Erdal Peçenek drew attention to the threat posed by lisergic acid diethylamide (LSD).

Stating that LSD is one of the most effective hallucinogens and has an imagination effect, Peçenek warned parents to be careful against this substance, which was used in children by being absorbed into papers in forms such as tattoos and labels.

The Gendarmerie General Command Criminal Division operates as the only institution authorized to carry out studies to determine the origin of drugs over 500 grams seized across the country. Presidency, work in this area, since the relevant national institutions on behalf of Turkey in 1982 and is conducting in cooperation with the United Nations. Samples taken from the seized drugs are brought to the Narcotic Substance Investigation Laboratory within the Presidency to determine their origin. Here, as well as the mixing ratio of narcotic substances, which are analyzed meticulously by scientific methods, it can even be determined in which boiler.

They detect the chemical fingerprint of the drug

Criminal Division Head Gendarmerie Senior Colonel Mustafa Mercan informed the AA reporter about the studies of the Investigation Laboratory.

Under the Law on Control of Narcotic Drugs, addressed over 500 grams of determining origin in Turkey passed all drug studies, only striking coral structures in the Gendarmerie Criminal Department, said:

"We also do profiling in this lab. We can briefly call this a chemical fingerprint. All drugs produced in a boiler have the same chemical property. For example, the drugs boiled in the same cauldron were seized in Van, Samsun and Istanbul as 3 packages. We determine that the drugs in these packages have the same 'chemical fingerprint' and are sold by the same seller and report them to the public prosecutors. They are also initiating related transactions."

Senior Colonel Mercan received around 5,000 specimens of 1000 different incidents that caught over 500 grams of drugs last year. We analyzed these and wrote 78 reports. We found that 239 events are interconnected. Our prosecutors then identified the suspects in the light of HTS records or other evidence, and took the necessary action.

Warns against LSD substance

Peçenek also drew attention to the threat posed by lisergic acid diethylamide (LSD). Stating that LSD is one of the most effective hallucinogens and has an imagination effect, Peçenek warned citizens to be careful about this substance, which is absorbed into papers in forms such as tattoos and labels. Peçenek stressed that especially children should be kept away from such substances.

All phases from manufacturer to user are determined by analysis

Stating that a drug passes through the steps of the manufacturer, smuggler, distributor, seller and user, Peçenek, "Drug reaches the distributor through the smuggler from the manufacturer, from the drug distributor who adds additives to increase the amount, from the drug distributor to the seller, at this point the additive with or without additives. The purity value is very high when the producer first produces, but when it comes to the user, this purity rate decreases. We carry out studies for determining origin by eliminating the phases that the drug passes from the manufacturer to the user," he said.
