Republican People's Party (CHP) and Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) held weekly group meetings in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM).
CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu criticized the government over the economy at the group meeting of his party.
MHP Chairman Devlet Bahceli made harsh criticisms of the opposition parties.
Kılıçdaroğlu evaluated President Erdoğan's statements regarding Greece.
"Erdoğan attacking Greece. I gave a speech in 2017. I say 'Greece occupied 18 of the Aegean Islands'. I say, 'You are making excuses for everything I say, make a sentence about the islands'. I say make a sentence about the occupied islands, he can't even make a sentence. Now it's a different place to Greece, 'Don't make me angry, I'll come'... 'I will make an operation in Syria.' If you are doing it, my brother, what are you shouting. We know you can't. While the islands were armed... Hodjas said it, soldiers said it, politicians said it. It was said, 'They are bringing weapons to the islands, this is against Lausanne.' He didn't even get bored, now he's getting efelen. They told us to "come" for a while. Erbakan and Ecevit went and took the Turkish part of Cyprus, the matter is over. Did they yell, no. They did the right thing," Kılıçdaroğlu said.
“WE ARE IMPORTING SUGAR AFTER 24 YEARS”
Kılıçdaroğlu, emphasizing that the government cannot manage the country, touched upon the crisis in sugar.
Kılıçdaroğlu used following words:
"Government does not rule as justice, but it cannot rule economically either. It really screwed up. We had no problems with sugar. Out of nowhere, they followed the instructions of the IMF. It blows sometimes... It applied a quota. Our sugar production has decreased. It sold its sugar mills. It sold the factories belonging to Turkey Sugar Factories. It sold 10 factories for 680 million dollars. The interest paid to loan sharks only in April is 19 billion liras. After 24 years, Turkey had to import sugar."
“ERDOĞAN CAN BE A PRESIDENT CANDIDACY AGAIN”
MHP Chairman Devlet Bahceli, regarding the execution discussions that started after the forest fires, "I find the death penalty debates very useful, and we will gladly support if a bill comes," he said.
Bahçeli pointed out that the scope of the death penalty should be expanded.
Referring to Erdogan's discussions about his candidacy for president for the third time, Bahçeli said:
"Recep Tayyip Erdogan's candidacy is legitimate, legal and constitutional. In 2023, our President will be re-elected, even very strongly."
