Citizens gave up all hope of government! Notable results were obtained from the "October 2021 Turkey Agenda Survey" conducted by MAK Consulting.
According to the research, more than half of the citizens no longer believe that the economy will improve with the current government. While 51 percent of the citizens say that the economy is deteriorating in Turkey, a significant portion such as 54 percent have lost their hope that the economy will improve in the next year.
54% SEES THE ECONOMY AS THE PRIORITY PROBLEM
In the research conducted by MAK Consulting, in which economic questions were asked, it was revealed that the citizens had given up on the economy. “What do you think is the most important problem of our country that needs to be solved?” While 54 percent of the participants said economic problems (cost of living), 16 percent answered education (cultural problems), 14 percent immigrants and 10 percent justice.
CITIZENS DON'T BELIEVE THAT THE GOVERNMENT WILL SOLVE IT IN A YEAR
"Can the current government solve Turkey's economic problems in the next 1 year?" While 54 percent of the citizens answered "can't solve" the question, only 19 percent answered "can solve", revealing that the majority of citizens gave up hope from the government. On the other hand, “When you think in general terms, is the economy in Turkey getting better or worse according to you?” It was noteworthy that 51 percent of the participants answered “it is getting worse” to the question.
63 percent of citizens say their economy is broken
In the research, “Which of the following statements summarizes the state of your family economy in the last 6 months?” 63 percent of the respondents answered that “our economy is broken”. The fact that only 5% of the respondents answered this question, "Our economy has gotten better," reveals that only a handful of people in Turkey have improved their situation in the last 6 months.
32 PERCENT CANNOT MEET THEIR BASIC NEEDS
Which of the following statements summarizes your current income? The answer to the question revealed the deplorable state of the citizen. While 32 percent of the participants answered "I cannot meet my basic needs" to this question, 31 percent answered "I can only meet my basic needs with my current income". Only 6% of the citizens answered this question that they meet their needs and can save money.
