During the 20-year management period, the government mainly built roads and bridges, and the Çanakkale bridge, which was opened recently, does not fall off the agenda with its 45 thousand car-pass guarantee.

While the citizens cannot use it comfortably due to the tolls on the roads built with the build-operate-transfer application, even a minority can reach the new cars to be used on the new roads.

CITIZENS CAN BUY OLD VEHICLES IN SECOND HANDS MARKET

While the citizens react to the tolls and oppose the fees due to the decrease in their purchasing power, the rates in second-hand vehicle sales in Turkey also reveal this.

According to the research by EBS Consulting Agency, 64 out of every 100 cars are over the age of 10, 51 are over the age of 15, and 39 are over the age of 20, in the sales of second-hand cars since the beginning of 2022. When citizens tend to buy vehicles, they turn to vehicles that are considered scrap according to European standards.

26.26 PERCENT OF 13.7 MILLION CARS IN TRAFFIC ARE OVER 21 YEARS OF AGE

According to the research conducted by EBS Consulting Agency, there are 13.7 million automobiles in Turkey. Of the 13.7 million automobiles, 25.14 percent are 0-5 years old, 25.37 percent are 6-10 years old, 13.21 percent are 11-15 years old, 10 percent are 16.20 years old. between the ages of 21 and 26.26 percent are 21 years or older. The data revealed that old cars, especially those over the age of 21, are still in traffic.

EBS Consulting General Manager Erol Şahin, who made evaluations about the situation in our newspaper, drew attention to the decrease in the purchasing power of the citizens.

O"ur strength is only enough for scrap. Out of every 100 second-hand cars sold in the first 2 months of 2022, 65 of them were 10 years old and over, 51 of them were 15 years old and over, 39 of them were 20 years old and over, which was 54 last year. We are no longer able to buy second hand cars. This is the case when purchasing power drops. While there are 162 cars per thousand people, the power of the citizens is only enough for old vehicles over 15-20 years old. The only thing we are jealous of is the SCT and VAT, which are taken on a scale that even the manufacturer cannot imagine," he said.
